COMMUNITY Pharmacist Gill Sweeney, set up the company Easigrip Ltd in
1999.
“One of the reasons I wanted to manufacture a new brand of bandage
was because I realised large companies were taking control of many products
reducing choice in the marketplace,” said Gill.
Gill wanted to offer a greater choice in the tubular bandage market
so she researched how to manufacture a bandage of high quality.
After just a few years in business interest for the product attracted
overseas attention and it was soon listed on the Drug Tariff.
Gill realises how pivotal a pharmacy is in helping to save the NHS money.
She said: “Pharmacies stock many products and need good reason
to increase their range or change to another brand, but for those that
do there are rewards.”
By stocking and supplying Easigrip, pharmacies are helping to save the
NHS money and stocking a line requested by your surgery or customers
provides that little extra customer service.
